The big brands of trucks for transport are presenting in this last period new models that adapt to current needs. Some of the models presented could be considered futuristic due to their innovative technology.

Volvo Concept Truck

Although it was already presented in 2016, this Volvo brand transport vehicle has been incorporating improvements such as its careful aerodynamics and its weight reduction.

The brand has implemented the Hybrid Energy Recovery Kinematic Chain in this model. The vehicle has batteries in which the energy generated when driving downhill on slopes greater than 1% or when braking is stored. This accumulated energy is activated to propel the vehicle on roads with little or no slope.

“In the coming years, as society increasingly invests in renewable energies, we are convinced that that electromobility and hybrid technology will become increasingly important.”

Claes Nilsson, CEO of Volvo Trucks.

The system of driving predicts the characteristics of the road and calculates the most energy-efficient and economical option for the use in each case of the diesel engine, electric motor or stored energy.

Mercedes Benz Future Truck 2025

In the race to develop trucks that reduce emissions, the Mercedes Benz brand has presented a prototype called Future Truck 2025 with futuristic and revolutionary aesthetics with new technologies that connect assistance systems and transportation software with sophisticated sensors.

At Merdeces Benz they are convinced that trucks will be able to drive autonomously in the future. To do this, it has developed a prototype system called Highway Pilot that was tested on a section of highway and that rolled with real traffic at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The vision of the future, which is practically the present of transport, is based on the interconnection between vehicles and bases. One of the most striking aspects is its aesthetic appearance of wavy and smooth lines and its LED lighting system.
