Special DGT traffic device for this summer 2018

It is a reality that the increase in traffic due to holidays will affect companies of transport and for this reason the General Directorate of Traffic has presented the measures of the Traffic Campaign for Summer, some of the novelties may affect the usual routes of your company and others may help to make your transport fleet safer this summer on the road.

In the summer season, 89.3 million trips are expected on Spanish roads, 2% more than in the summer of last year.

The dates of the Space Operations are these three:

First Operation summer From June 29 to July 1

Operation First of August From July 31 and August 1

Operation Return of the summer From August 31 to September 2

· For all drivers to travel safely and smoothly, special measures have been established:

Paralysis of road works.

· Restrictions on dangerous goods vehicles and special transport on some roads at certain times and days. Check the restrictions calendar here.

· Opening and installation of reversible lanes at times of increased traffic intensity.

· Design of alternative routes to avoid collapses. To take into account as transport professionals when updating routes in our transport management software.

· Special campaigns to monitor motorcycles, vans, speed, alcohol-drugs.

· Surveillance with 10 helicopters and 5 drones that will fly over conventional roads.

The DGT recommends putting into practice what we all already know:
