3 large passenger transport companies

Passenger transport by road is one of the transport methods most used by users, due to its comfort, speed and diversity of destinations. Every year there is an approximate volume of 5 million passengers per kilometer traveled on regular long-distance lines, according to data from the Ministry of Public Works. Bus fleets are therefore the most widely used means of transport in large metropolitan areas followed by rail.

According to the DBK Sectoral Observatory passenger transport by bus generated in 2016 3,250 million euros in revenue, putting an end to a period of decline. The Spanish market is also positioned in third place in Europe after Italy and Germany and in recent years three large transport companies have dominated the sector: Avanza, Alsa and Samar.

Grupo Avanza

The union of three large road transport companies was born. The Avanza Group and road passenger transport integrates all areas; urban, metropolitan, long-distance transport, regular and special and discretionary transport.

Alsa

A road transport company that has been operating since the 18th century. It currently manages bus services at a national level and services in the European territory with a modern fleet of coaches in which new technologies are implemented for the management of transport companies.

Samar >

Currently made up of a fleet of 700 vehicles operating with various subsidiaries of the group itself. It is one of the main road transport companies in the country, operating mainly in Madrid, Zaragoza and Seville.
